About NSS

The National Service Scheme, commonly known as NSS, is a voluntary community service program aimed at fostering social responsibility and civic engagement among young people. Originating in India in 1969, NSS has since expanded to numerous countries worldwide.

The program encourages students to actively participate in various community development activities, focusing on initiatives that address social issues, promote sustainable development, and contribute to the well-being of society. NSS emphasizes the holistic development of individuals by instilling values such as leadership, teamwork, and empathy.

Participants, often referred to as NSS volunteers, devote their time and efforts to community service projects, ranging from healthcare and education to environmental conservation. Through NSS, individuals not only contribute to the betterment of society but also gain valuable life experiences, leadership skills, and a heightened sense of social awareness. The program serves as a platform for young people to make meaningful contributions to their communities and cultivate a sense of responsibility towards the larger social fabric.

About MIT Bengaluru

Bengaluru, the Garden City of India, proudly introduces MIT Bengaluru, the latest engineering institution under Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal.

Approved by AICTE and MHRD, MIT Bengaluru offers various B Tech programs with new programs being added every year. MAHE, an Institute of Eminence recognized by the Government of India, conducts admissions through the MET online entrance test.

With a rich history, MAHE serves 33,000+ students from 67+ nations across various disciplines, including medicine, engineering, dentistry, nursing, management, and humanities, with sister campuses in Jaipur, Mangalore, Bangalore, Jamshedpur, and Sikkim. Volunteers divided into groups collected and segregated garbage from different areas of the University to promote and raise awareness on proper waste management

Awareness Session on Blood Cancer and Stem Cell Transplantation

The session was conducted to explain the importance of blood stem cell transplants after which the participants were encouraged to provide a cheek swab sample as part of registration

Blood Donation Drive 2024

The Blood Donation event conducted by VSO MAHE and NSS Unit MIT Bengaluru stood as a collaborative effort aimed at promoting altruism and contributing to the welfare of society.

Junior Volunteer

Junior Volunteers are the budding contributors, new to the realm of service, displaying enthusiasm and eagerness to learn while dedicating up to 25 hours of their time. They actively engage in various tasks, supporting initiatives and gaining foundational experiences in volunteering.

Associate Volunteers

Associate Volunteers are the steady contributors, having invested 26 to 50 hours in meaningful service. They exhibit a moderate level of commitment, demonstrating reliability and consistent involvement across different projects, making notable contributions to the causes they support.

Senior Volunteer

Senior Volunteers showcase substantial dedication by offering 51 to 100 hours of their time, portraying a depth of involvement and experience in their volunteer work. They display a strong commitment, often taking on responsibilities that require experience, offering guidance, and enhancing project outcomes.

Anchor Volunteer

Anchor Volunteers serve as pillars within the volunteer community, dedicating 101 to 200 hours of their time. They exhibit exceptional leadership qualities, actively guiding fellow volunteers, initiating projects, and demonstrating a high level of commitment, becoming indispensable assets to the organization.

Master Volunteer

Master Volunteers epitomize unwavering dedication, contributing 201 or more hours, showcasing a profound and enduring impact on the initiatives they support. They are seasoned leaders, possessing extensive knowledge, and making transformative contributions that significantly advance the organization's mission and goals. Their commitment sets a benchmark for others, inspiring through their exceptional service.
